Review of Brave New WorldGoing into this I only knew that there'd be a mix of supernatural and sci-fi. I had no clue that it would be done so well. Everybody plays a part - Chris as the science dude whilst Eddie and Erica represent the supernatural. I'm wondering what the Markman was on Earth for...obviously to capture the superpeople but why? Nice to see you've already started up a mystery in the pilot, and I've got a feeling that whoever the Markman worked for, they're this seasons Big Bad. My only dislike was how quickly Chris came to accept everything, just seemed a bit too fast. And the episode seemed to end quickly, but it was a logn episode and anything added onto the end would have stretched it even more I think. Got to say, Eddie's my favourite character so far, and Chris is slightly annoying in a blindingly obvious way. Erica's...indescribible. I haven't really got an opinion of her just yet, although I'm sure I will. I'm interested about the Teaser, just what exactly happened in this future? And Eddie and Erica are dead? Hmm. Interesting. Anyway, good to see a TEN pilot doing great, and I look forward to next episode! 8/10

Not that I'll stop reading if this doesn't happen, but any chance of getting some .html files of the episodes up, because I find myself without the computer and with my PSP at times, so if I had the episodes to read in .html, I could get them both read and reviewed quicker.
Expect a review of episode two, "Witch Hunt", either tonight or tommorow.

I might put some links up on the Gifted Site. Thanks for the input.

Guess that means I have a bit of extra time to catch up - any news on those .html files?

I've been super-busy this week; midterms are coming up and my professors are trying to cram as much in as possible. HTML files will be forthcoming, probably late next week.

(Still no HTML's, but until then I'm going to be reading in PDF)
"Witch Hunt"
Okay, so it's been a little while since my last readthrough of the pilot and since my last review, but I can still remember the premise, the characters and th eplot, so I'm still good.
One thing I found annoying with this episode - the title is totally misleading. I thought it was going to be to do with a Witch being outted and Leahville acting rash towards her, tieing in to do with the Witch Trials, but instead the end result didn't really have anything to do with witches, although I guess that was intentional.
POSITIVE The twist of Alison's supposed "witchiness". Never saw that coming! Chris' reaction to the above. Eddie's method of killing the parents. Eddie's victory dance. XD Chris catching Erica naked. "Wear your 'Shave The Whales' Shirt" - I hope that's not a spelling mistake, 'cos that's hilarious. The mysterious ending. Why are these people watching Eddie and what are the MarkDroids?
NEGATIVE Erika being such a biatch to Chris, I didn't really like her that much this episode. Chris' conversation with the bartender - he'll make the call worth it. What is this, a porn bar?!? (Or am I just a dirty mind?) Soppiness at the end. It's necessery, but I found myself skipping bits. They don't do anything for me.
As you can see, the positives outweigh the negatives, so that earns this, a nice, round 7 out of 10. It should have been 6.5 really, but I was generous and rounded up.

Nice. All fair points. I'm glad you caught the bit about the title - the idea that the entire episode they were hunting a "witch" but it turned out to be something else was supposed to be kind've a metaphor/allusion to the Salem trials, where innocents were accused of being witches when really they were just people in suspicious circumstances. And yes, you do have a dirty mind . "Shave the Whales" is a reference to Beverly Hills Ninja. It's interesting to see that you're not a fan of Erica. That's probably good. It'll make the payoff that much sweeter.
