REGULAR CHARACTERS

Scot Jean Grey (Karen Gillan) is the heart and soul of the team. Her powers manifested at an extraordinarily young age after the murder of her parents in her own home. She grew up under the care of her aunt, Moira MacTaggert, who was a contact of Xavier's and researched the Mutant X gene herself. When Jean left school at the age of eighteen, she helped her aunt research the Mutant X gene for a couple of years, meeting several other mutants along the way. Realizing she wanted to learn more about her own abilities and to develop them, Moira sent her to Xavier's school where she quickly bonded with Warren and became close friends. She has since become a critical part of the team as it's medic and also a close friend of Xavier's, with him personally teaching her how to control her telepathy and telekinesis. Jean was amongst the mutants captured by Emma Frost and taken to the prison on Genosha.
Robert "Bobby" Drake (Steven R. McQueen), like all other mutants, has had a rough upbringing thanks to his ability causing arguments between him and his parents. Now eighteen, his parents have thrown him out after one argument too many and he's left with nowhere to go. When Xavier and the others reach out to him, he finds a home with other mutants that he never thought existed. However, he feels completely lost in this new world and throws up the funny guy act in order to try and prove that he's okay when he's not. He feels misunderstood by everyone and has very low expectations of himself but with the help of a few friends, he might find that life isn't as bad as he thinks it is. His first few weeks at the Academy were rough but he was talked out of leaving by Jean and is now a proud member of the X-Men. Bobby has been captured by Emma Frost and locked up on Genosha.
Southern gal Rogue (Nina Dobrev) may act hard as bones but inside she's just a lost girl who doesn't know what's going on with her life. Refusing to tell anyone her real name or exactly what her power does, she's completely closed off from the others and knows it. Her brash attitude and willingness to get her hands dirty mean that she can sometimes clash heads with the other members in the team and even Xavier himself. She's scared of letting people get close and prefers to be by herself. Almost everything about her is a mystery and it's not one she's eager on letting anyone unfold any time soon. She was captured by Shaw and tested on by Emma Frost, leaving her with a white streak in her hair. Rogue almost killed Shaw in revenge but was talked out of it by her beau, Angel. She and Shadowcat were the only two X-Men to escape capture and have gone on the run, searching for their captured friends in the meantime.
A student at the Academy, Kitty Pryde (Zoey Deutch) acts as both the team's medic alongside Jean and helps Xavier with more administrative duties. Her actions at Shaw's mansions when she rescued Jean have earned her a place on the team, although this isn't to everybody's liking. Xavier knows she can be reckless but she's settling into the team quickly and has her eye on making Bobby her boyfriend, much to Jean's chagrin. Kitty used her abilities to become intangible to save herself and Rogue from being captured and taken to Genosha. They have instead gone into hiding and are searching for their friends.
Another student at Xavier's Academy, James "Jamie" Madrox (Josh Hutcherson) serves as the pilot for the X-Jet, also known as the Blackbird. He accompanied the X-Men to Shaw's mansion where his best friend Kitty was instrumental in saving Jean. He joined the team alongside her, also falkling on Rogue's bad side. He's far quieter than Kitty and prefers to hang at the back of the crowd, offering his opinion only when necessary. He's inexperienced in the field and is struggling to adjust, but his confidence is building over time. Madrox is one of the mutants being held prisoner on the island of Genosha.
Ororo Munroe / Storm (Bianca Lawson) used to be a member of Xavier's X-Men until she left for unknown reasons and started shacking up with Magneto as part of his new Brotherhood. Storm has control over all forms of weather and has the ability to fly. After a final fight against the X-Men, both sides were overwhelmed and captured by Emma Frost. Storm was one of the mutants captured and thrown into the prison on Genosha.
Although Warren Worthington III (Callan Aullife) grew up in a wealthy family, he did not have a particularly easy childhood. His parents separated when he was eight and his relationship with them was left estranged. His wings manifested on his fifteenth birthday and although he tried to hide them at first, it soon became obvious that he was not a normal boy. After being rejected by his parents for his remaining childhood, he was visited by Xavier who promised him a place to stay and a chance to learn about his mutation. Warren agreed and joined Xavier as one of the first pupils at his school and the leader of the X-Men. He's also Xavier's confidant and acts as an older brother to the girls. His supposed murder of Pyro has left him slightly colder and distanced from his teammates, as he wants none of them to commit the deed. His body was eventually stolen by rogue mutant Switch who started masquerading as him until Emma Frost attacked and he fled. Warren has been under the watchful eye of Psylocke since the switch and is a prisoner in a stranger's body.
