This is the previously mentioned special award that was supposed to be released yesterday but I had quite a busy day so I didn't have the chance to upload it until now. I wanted to say a little something about this award and why the admin staff chose to award it to Alden.
It's obvious to see that the majority of our shows here on TEN are of the webisode format and it's thanks to Alden, who runs two of our webisode series, that we've managed to have these successful shows. Whilst he wasn't the first person in the virtual series to utilize the idea of webisodes, he popularized them with his work on Slayer Academy and then with his first series here, Darken House.
It was with these successes that he paved the way for more webisode shows including his most recent series, Dead City Blues and works of my own. Not only that, but the success Darken House and the shows it inspired here contributed in part to the other two 'big networks', MZPtv and the VPN, deciding to open pitching sections for webisodes on their own sites which has led to popular shows like Blood Red Shoes and Audition.
Many have praised webisodes for being the perfect format for a starting writer in the virtual series world and as somebody who has struggled with full-length series of my own, it's thanks to working with Alden on his webisode projects that I've been able to find my own voice and use the format in my own way. A lot of the shows nominated in these awards wouldn't be around if it wasn't for Alden and I think that he's gone far too long without the praise he deserves.
It's not only for his work on webisodes that he receives this award - Alden has worked tirelessly to get the name of this network out there and even before becoming part of our senior staff team, was keen to help us expand and develop as every young network should. We at TEN have a lot to be thankful to him for and we look forward to continuing the working relationship with him in the future but for now, we want to say a big thank you.
